RuralGuard's success is due to it's strength and flexibility. The strength comes from the use of steel for the post and concrete for the base. The flexibility comes from the fact that the system is made in 3 separate pieces, the base, post, and swing arm. All three pieces even after installation remain independent. Therefore if one piece becomes damaged the others do not need replacing. See tractor video on home page for details.
BASE: A concrete block made of 40 lbs of Portland cement with it's own unique anchoring system.
POST: 1 1/4" Steel so it meets the strength to handle it's close proximity to the road and also meets the DOT's requirement of no greater than 2" steel or 4" wood.
SWING ARM: Swing arm allows the mailbox to move away from anything attempting to damage it. Swing arm can rotate 360 degrees and the mailbox is suspended on brackets so that it can sway as well. No mechanical parts to breakdown. System uses gravity forces to create movement.
RG2: Like the original Ruralguard it has the "sway away" ability. This system allows installation of mailbox on top or below post. Mounting mailbox above post makes the system appear more commonplace.
